Behind the Brand: Who we are

Behind the Brand: Who we are

Howdy y’all!

After a year of hard work and immense support from family, friends, and mentors, I’m beyond excited to share Desperado with you!

The adventure with Desperado began when I moved from Denver to Chicago to start my MBA program at the Kellogg School of Management. On my very first day of class, I decided to wear my cowgirl boots. Without saying a word, my outfit told my story—showing everyone my values, my love for the Great American West, and my belief in authenticity. As I looked to incorporate more Western-inspired pieces into my wardrobe to honor my roots, I struggled to find brands producing high-quality, fashionable western pieces for women whose mission resonated with me. To me, a brand is more than just clothing; it’s a personal statement, a way to share a piece of my story with you. And that’s how Desperado was born.

I've noticed something over the years—in this world of fast fashion, where clothes seem to come and go with the seasons, many of us are searching for something with greater meaning. We want clothes that do more than just cover us; we want clothes that speak for us, that tell our stories and reflect our dreams. That's why I created Desperado. Our pieces are crafted to be timeless, telling the story of trailblazing women who wear them—not just today, but for years to come.

Here at Desperado, we're all about creating apparel that lets you express your individuality and live authentically. Our collections draw inspiration from the sweeping landscapes and storied past of the West, designed for women who don't just follow the stories but rewrite them in their own unique ways.

Each garment we create is carefully designed and made with materials chosen not only for their beauty but for their durability. When you wear Desperado, you’re not just making a fashion statement—you’re carrying forward a legacy of courage, independence, and creativity.

I want you to feel empowered to own your story and shape your destiny with every piece you wear. Desperado is here to give you confidence on that journey, a badge of courage and a symbol of your unique spirit. I truly believe when you ‘look good’, you will ‘feel good’ and then go ‘do good’ out in this world. Women who wear Desperado will go ‘do good’ and change this world.

Thanks for being part of our story.

- xoxo Lucy
